Reply to VCI-100 buttons. Surface mounts?

I'd be interested in either re-arranging the controls on my units, or combining both units into one monster.


Not looking to re-design the PCB: I'll cop a chassis with two backplanes (2x power switches, 2x USB ports, etc).


What I would be interested to know - before pulling them apart - is how the buttons might work (for all you modders who have already pulled yours apart for arcade-and-other mods).


Is it possible that the buttons and pots can be desoldered from their current positions and wired to the boards instead?
