A noteworthy one posted on this blog: http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives...-1-review.html Reviewed by DJ Mrs. Blythe over a period of 2 months usage at gigs and on the road. I am excited by the potential of these and am looking forward to a pair of my own very soon! |
Regine Hulme 15.10.2010 | My wife gave me those tma last week. Here are my impressions. They are very comfortable and sound ok. Yes just plain ok. I got hdj-2000 and they are not nearby. Sens hd25 also sounds better. Let me explain. These tma are stucked in middle frequencies, they are very clear but it is noticeable the response to Middles. In the evening club they lack of bass so then there are better options even those cheap panasonic ones retro style. In the other hand I use them in a 5 hours flight and were a joy, comfortables not harsh low or high frequencies. But for the price I believe they are a rip off, yes they look very nice and the package is awesome but.... Even the old pioneers the hdj-10000 sounds way better and are cheaper, also the sens, even the denons. This is like that Bose strategy to tell you they do great stuff but for example, their headphones are pretty lousy. I hope you will find my comments useful |

Adolf Hit 13.10.2010 | I had a good jam on mine last evening
.... I agree they def feel loose on your head compared to others but as mentioned above the over molded rubber construction means they grip the top of your head really well, I found no issue with them staying on with moderate head banging, technics come straight off my head when I mosh.... Sound wise they are great, very clear on the snares, good amounts of detail in the bass compared to technics. Compared to my HD-280s which are my every day listening headphones they are far more sensitive, my macbook could drive them to uncomfortable levels. Though they def shine once used on a mixer with a decent headphone output. Like everyone else the glue on the headband looks a little dodgy but it is not falling off at all, proabably just a QA issue with their manufacturing. Midian has had a pair for a month now and finds the cord pulls out of the cup a bit easy when gigging, I also have found the supplied cord to be the weakest point of the product so far, and will be replacing it with something without coils, and something more flexible. Over all very happy with this purchase! |
Leigh Derbyshire 13.10.2010 | The versions of the HD 25 with the different headband have different drives as well, stay away from them. Personally I only recommend the 25-1 II because the extra (velour) pads are very very comfortable. I might pick up the TMA-1 if I somehow get an extra 200$ to spend on headphones. I believe I read one review that said they had less isolation than the HD 25s, so who knows. Do know that whichever one looses is going straight to the FS section on discount. |
Mai Kalka 13.10.2010 | Lot of talking about the TMA-1 in the thread. Time for some HD-25! Just got my HD-25-1 II after my Pioneer HDJ-1000 broke. I just love them. Pretty high pressure on your ears but thats allright. I wear glasses and that sometimes leads to hurting ears when your headphones got this high pressure, but not on this one! The sound is, as you most likely allready know, awesome. And about the different versions... The differences is the length and type of cord, the headband in one or two pieces and some models comes with two set of earpads and some with one. I have'nt tested the TAM's but they seem to have exact same construction as the HD-25's. And that's pretty much what makes the HD-25 so durable. One "pro" I can see with the TMA's is the seemingly "easy to switch" cord. The HD-25's got the same function, but it is only meant to be used when your cord brakes and not just to switch length and type. I'm completely happy with the HD-25-1 II and I wouldnt buy the TMA's just because the HD-25 is proven good on all points and thats missing with the TMA's. (sorry for my bad english) |

John Aird 13.10.2010 | Just got mine! Looks and feels great. I agree about the pressure against the ears is low, but they sound great at home. Need to test them on a gig before I can review them for real. |

Adolf Hit 12.10.2010 | Just got mine. Sound is great (for DJING), def dont put heaps of pressure on your ears, but they appear to do a better job of staying on my head that technics. Very happy so far! |
Lucile Sanita 12.10.2010 | Those look rad! I'm looking for something that will replace my HD515 and grado SR80. Those are nice headphones but just not for DJing, i believe... It'll be either the stanton DJ pro 2000 or 3000 or the sennheiser 25II OR or or or the TMA. That thing must me great, i just don't like on-ear designs. I wonder how do they feel on your earr. Sweaty ears or is there a lot of pressure? |
Manie Dillaman 12.10.2010 | Well, I ordered the AIAIAI's last week and they just showed up this morning. They sound fantastic and are extremely comfortable. They could be a little more snug on the ears but other than no complaints. |
Mee Pennucci 11.10.2010 | Tested them out at a local store and the sound is great(picking up mine tomorow!) However, it seems that I need to wear a hat to make the cans fit my head properly ^^ |
Manie Dillaman 04.10.2010 | I am also about to purchase one of these two headphones within the next few days. Only bad I have heard about the AIAIAI's is that they do not fit snug enough on the ears for some users to cancel outside sound in very loud environments. Any truth to this? Other than that, all reviews I have read have had nothing but great things to say about the TMA-1's. |
Adolf Hit 04.10.2010 | Just ordered mine so hopefully will be able to post a few comments later this week |
Aurea Kager 04.10.2010 | Thanks Mates.... |
Eldora Longchamp 05.10.2010 | I believe they just barely came out (Aug 2010) so I doubt anyone had these for a long enough time. I do have the Sennheiser HD-25-1 IIs and they are fantastic. 2 Years, no problems. and all the parts are pretty much replaceable like the TMA-1 |
