Denon SC2000 vs A&H Xone:1D
Denon SC2000 vs A&H Xone:1D Posted on: 17.12.2010 by Erich Berker So my faithful Feena controller is starting to, well, be a little less faithful. It's faced almost 5 years of at least weekly gigging, so I like to believe I got my money's worth.So I'm tossing a couple things around in my head, one of which being picking up a pair of SC2000s or Xone:1ds, and go to an external mixer set up instead of using Traktor's mixer. So, as I've not yet had the opportunity to put my hands on either of these, I'm looking for input. (the other couple things I'm looking at is the Kontrol S4 and the MC6000, but that's a whole other comparison thread lol) | |

| Erich Berker 18.12.2010 | I dunno.. the more I believe about it, I believe I'd really rather prefer something that I'm not going to have a difficult time seeing. A pair of SC2000s sitting with an DN-X120 or the like may be the route I end up going. I don't care that much for LED feedback. It's nice and all, but not really a deal breaker. If it were a requirement, I wouldn't have sold my SCS System3. Tactile > lights every day of the week. |
| Teresia Janusch 18.12.2010 | i have a 1d, the only thing i dont like is i cant get the leds mapped how i want them, other than that, its cool. easy to find space for in cramped dj boxes. |
| Branden Wentler 18.12.2010 | I used to own a 4D and didn't like the lack of LED feedback. The 2000 is a great, solid controller. The only draw back for the 2000 vs 1/2D is fewer controls--not really an issue for me though. It's compactness and solid build trumps the offering from A&H. I use x2 2000s and a Xone:92 mixer btw. |

| Mellisa Calenda 18.12.2010 | I've been using TSP with a xone 1D, 2D external mixer set up for a wile, so I guess i can give you my opinion on the xone 1D side of the argument. As far as controllers go this thing is built very well. All the knobs encoders sliders buttons feel awesome and its a really solid peace of kit. The 1D also has a lot of controls which is nice especially if you want to experiment and don't want to tear apart your current mapping to find space on the controller. However the things i really don't like about the 1D as far as a TSP controller is the fact that a lot of the buttons are not back lit and the ones that are, the LED feed back does not work well at all. Ive tried putting it in 'ableton mode' 'traktor mode' all on all off and still it never works quite how it should. So that definitely a pain. This kinda goes along with the buttons not being led back lit but all the little black buttons are also really hard to see/distinguish between in low light environments and i've found myself pressing the wrong one on a couple of occasions. So that's my take on things. I am currently trying to sell off my xone 1d/2d and get a set of x1's and audio 8. I feel they would work better with TSP. Anyways hope that helps a little. |
