Audio 2 DJ & Reloop DJ Controller

newbie here. ok so im looking at buying a digital controller, im believeing about the reloop digital jockey 2 interface edition, but i wanted to know if people would recommend getting the reloop digital jockey 2 controller (no built-in soundcard) and Audio 2 DJ with this?

an improvement of sound? may even save me money.
but the real query is about the outputs, the fact it has jack outputs works for me as my monitors are the same, but i want to know how can i connect my monitors up to the A2 sound card and still get a headphone cue, when it has only 2 outputs, is there a way to do it? cable splitter?

cheers

my two options are, get a jack (6.3mm) splitter. my query of this is will it output it in stereo and will it loose any quality when doing so?

and the other option is to get some new monitors/speakers with the rca output (which i was considering doing over time) but that means forking out more money
Okay first of all you're confusing outputs with inputs, but I know what you want to say.
You either buy a splitter and 2 6.3 (male) to 6.3 (male) cables, or you buy a cable which directly splits into 2 mono cables. When you go for the splitter, make sure it splits in 2 mono channels, not 2 stereo, that's not optimal.

If you buy a decent brand (no need to buy gold-plated either, just decent stuff) you won't have quality loss.

Again, cables are relatively cheap, no need to buy new monitors if your old ones are still doing fine.

Yup, it comes down to personal preference and future plans.

still abit confused about the outputs, so the 2 outputs of the audio2 are stereo outputs. so channel a is in stereo and output b is in stereo too, i can understand that. but using 1 output to link it to 2 speakers, will i need a specific cable?

so heres the monitors i have

i dont believe they can be linked, i thought they had to have separate jacks/xlr's to each speaker.
dyou know about this? know if the audio2 will come with all the cables i will need?

cheers
If you're mixing internally (i.e. completely within traktor, not with an external mixer), you have just 1 master output, where channel a & b are already mixed depending on your faders & stuff. You just connect your Audio2DJ to the audio system of the club (usually you plug it in 1 channel of the mixer, which for the rest you do not touch), and you're all set. You'll need a 6.3mm (male) to 2*RCA (male) cable in the typical club setup. I have no idea if these are included, my Audio2DJ is still shipping. They don't cost much anyway.

If you're mixing externally, 1 output will be used for channel A, the other one for channel B, both with aforementioned cables. This means you don't have an output left for your headphones, and that's logical. You're mixing externally, so you just plugin your headphones to the external mixer and again you're good to go.

Can't help you on the monitors, I am an absolute noob in that area.

The biggest advantage of an Audio2DJ is probably that you can still use it when you decide to change controller. From what I've heard, it also has a bit better sound quality (I suppose the average Joe isn't gonna notice it), and that's about it.
The RDJ Controller edition doesn't have touch-sensitive jogs though. I don't have it on my RDJ1 either, and unless you wanna do scratching - in which case you shouldn't be buying an RDJ either way, it sure is manageable with regular jogs too. But still, touch-sensitive can be very handy at times, and sometimes I wish I'd have them too.

Audio2DJ is about the best you can get (provided you only need 2 outputs, i.e. a digital-only setup), so yes you'll really be set. From what I've read the RDJ's built-in is good enough to gig the club. Once you get to play at the big clubs I suppose you'll have the cash to buy some upgrades anyway huh.

Yup it's a nice addition, and a shame it's been left out on the controller edition.

You get 2 outputs on both cards, headphones + master out, no need for splitters.

thanks for the response, i hear the audio 2 dj has enough kick to run a big club system whereas an inbuilt soundcard may not, although ive not read of any complaints of the reloop's sound card.
yer scratching isnt the most important area to me, but touch sensitives would be nice for that

and does anyone know about the outputs? how to wire up a stereo output and still get a headphone mix
just found this cable splitter, is this how people are connecting it up? will it loose quality?
