Posted on: 29.01.2009 by ANTHONY ARELLANO
Hi,

My top left knobs on my uc-33e never stop to send midi value 52 & 53 as soon as i turn on the controller!!

Never had water in it! it started this morning and was working right yesterday evening ...

Since i don't have any kind of waranty on this i was believeing of buying a potentiometers (knobs) and replacing it myself... The only thing is i don't know what kind of knob i need are they special.... if someone could help me out with this i would be grateful

What is the configuration of the boards instide the UC33?
Are all of the sliders and pots on the same PCB?

Maybe a few parts are cheap, but don't forget all the hours off work(fun),
and maybe some more specific parts arent that cheap.(sliders,housing).

Cheers.

Is it really that cheap to build a custom controller? Buy a USB HID board, a bunch of pots/faders/buttons from an electronics store, solder 'em to the board, house it, and use MJOY to convert HID to midi.

Is it that easy, and THAT CHEAP???

I know that I payed 1.013 USD for 1 potentiometer for my vci 100.
thats very little compared with the rates of a service center.
But keep in mind that shipping costs are about 20 Euro from US to Europe.

I looked on mouser,
I believe the pot is from Bi-Technologies.It looks similar,
but has no wire on it to mount in a panel.
