Traktor FX Controller - DIY Build Log

I have been working on a controller to use with traktor for the past couple of weeks...

I started out following the design of a midifighter, but with some rotary pots...

This is how far i have got so far...

It is basically a Leo Bodnar Board as the controller, and some sanwa arcade buttons.

I have some more details to post on how i have got to this stage, and will have some more to follow with adding pots.

At the moment i am just using it with the midifighter map and instant gratification map.

Yes, you're correct. You take two inputs from the Leo Bodnar controller and one of the grounds. Remember to download the encoder drivers from the Leo Bodnar site, I'm working away from home for the next few days, but I will try and find them and post the link if you do decide to put them on your unit. Look on Ebay for rotary encoders and you might find a batch of 10 relatively cheap (

I've not used this store, but his feedback is excellent. This is just an example of the kind of thing you'd be looking for.

I guess they get connected to 2 digital inputs for each encoder?

Im not going to lose anything by adding them i suppose...

Thought about adding rotary encoders to this unit too? From what I can see it's the same unit as mine, and if you are only using 16 buttons you could add up to another 8 encoders. It's relatively easy and if you're looking for some help, let me know.
