Custom MIDI controller
Posted on: 22.04.2011 by Willia Subotic
Have just made my own controller using 2x gamepads and some encoders. I essentially want to use this to control FX in traktor with 2 rows of 4 encoders.

I have it all soldered up and assembled but I can't seem to find a decent HID to MIDI converter that is simple to use. Can anyone help or post up a tutorial to a HID to MIDI converter that is simple to use and available for free / very cheap price?

Thanks

Ps I am running a windows 7 based OS

Right so far I am using Fergo JoystickMIDI with Midi Yoke. I can see that my pots are giving outputs as I can see this in the joystick monitor but I can get any outputs out!? My only output device options are (Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, (Novation) Automap MIDI, Automap Propellerhead, Automap HUI and Fergo JoystickMIDI server).

I don't have a clue how to use Midi Yoke so if someone could tell me how to use it, that will be extremely helpful.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to getting this mess sending MIDI signals to Traktor via the programs I am using??

Thanks
