Hercules RMX with two midifighters
Posted on: 11.05.2011 by Janice Nahm
I have been DJing for a year with my RMX, however it is time for an upgrade if i want to start getting jobs. I was believeing about getting a different controller until i saw the midifighters. Is it possible to use the RMX with 2 midifighters (one for deck a and one for deck b) using traktor pro? if so how do i configure it? would it be better to get something else? please help me out with this dilemma. Thanks

Not if you select the in and out ports correctly

oh cool, sorry for assuming.

yes this is totally doable and i recommend it. MF are much better for cue points than the laptop keyboard

sure you can map a toggle modifier to one of the buttons and have that be your shift between a/c, b/d.

keep in mind DJTT are about to release their new MF so keep an eye out for those. there are going to be a few different buttons layouts from what i understand.

Im actually using traktor pro. i like it better than vitual dj. I want to use the two midifighters to control effects and cue points (one for deck a and one for deck b) I use my laptop keyboard for cue points now.

also is there a way to map the midifighters to control deck a&c or b&d, like by using a shift button?

I'm considering the exact same setup as well lol.
Except with akai lpd's or number pads because im broke as hell cuz.

on a side note, is there a mapping for one midi fighter, two decks?
or a way to switch from deck a to b?
thx

is it safe to say you'll be using Virtual DJ? that could limit you on what you map onto the MF.

sounds like a great setup but it all depends on how you want to use the midifighters.

I'd say it was alright, but it sounds like a lot of hassle... What's your price range?

Get a powered USB hub and make sure that you turn off as much computer devices (wireless, soundcard etc) to reduce latency and have your hercules connected directly to the computer.

Our setup we have a launchpad, joystick and custom MIDI controller and it runs fine.

Have fun . .

There are many possibilities with that combo. If you wanted one for each deck you could use the deckalized mapping.
