Reply to A disatisfied hdj-500 owner, anyone else have this problem?

So i had my first club gig last evening , it went awesomely except for one thing i could not for the life of me hear my head phones.

I have a pair of pioneer hdj-500's even when i turned the volume for the headphones on the mixer almost all the way up i could barely barely hear the kick drum. And since i was manually beet matching the hole time it was a little scary being barly able to hear if i was on beet or not.

Has anyone else had this problem before? is something wrong with my headphones? Am i doing this wrong?
