[mod] USB Touchscreen

Hey!

So, I actually saw a performance of some musician using a old Omnichord, what made me believe that i could write a program in maxmsp using a matrix controller (in my case monome, but it could be the midifighter) to select the chords and some other thing to play them. I would need some kind of touch surface to emulate the 'string' play.

Googling to found a solution i stumbled across the DJTT's DIY midi controler Tutorial a thought about making my own touchscreen midi controler, using a psp touchscreen (here) and the G U-HID (here, thought that the motion sensor would be a nice feature to add the device). The thing is that i know almost nothing about circuits and etc, so I dont have any clue that the touch screen will work. I believe i also need some advice choosing the wires that are needed to connect the screen to the G U-HID. It would be really cool if i could also connect two leds (one to each coordinate of the screen) that would change intensity according with the touch position, but i dont know if the G U-HID would allow me to do that, but if not, that's not a big deal. The remaining ports of the board would be regular buttons.

I've decided to post this here because its a help request from a project based on the diy midi controller video and is a midi controller, if I get to finish this one day any of you could do another device and use it for other things. I am also trying to find a way to attach this to my guitar :]

I would really appreciate any of your help, thanks in advance.
