Im believeing of moding and doing some custom color with my lpd8! Has any one done this, Or used the internals to make your own custom midi controller? Post pics if you got em, would love to see your work!

I can't recommend the LPD8 enough as a midi controller brain... its cheap and provides a decent amount of analogue/digital ins/outs.
true - tho the build quality is less of an issue if being completely rehoused with new buttons etc?

the lpd8 does have much more optons tho with the rotaries and led feedback - just seems a shame to pull one apart they are bloody cheap now mind u...

Just bought one on amazon for about 53$. I plan on giving this baby some arcade buttons, but i have not quite thought of a housing for it. I might just make one at work with some spare scrap metal. Hard telling how big the lpd8 is just from pictures and listed measurements online. Looks like fun though.

Watch out! Use special paint. And be careful around the pad and knobs. I suggest cutting out the template on a piece of paper or thin plastic, designing it and using it as a faceplate.

I like it! Its nice and compact, feel like its built well, comes great with support sw. I am using it for very simple functions in traktor, but I believe I wanna try and add in some functions once I get my hands on ableton. For the price I dont believe you can beat it.

almost seems a shame to mod an lpd8 - being how well it's made to begin with etc. better mod a nanopad no led feedback on that tho ofc..

i don't believe i have ever seen any lpd8 mods on here, i have been here for a while.
the lpd8 unit i found when i opened it up to fix mine,
there is not much room for modding and its sturdy build quality means it is an epic task to take it all apart, just warning you in advance it can be a cluster fuck.
thought i had totally bricked mine but luckily it started working again after a month of lying in a draw, i honestly don't how or why
