That is an EPIC deal! Two deck controller with built-in sound and MIDI cards? Sweet. Although I've never had my hand at one, the Xponent was one of the few I was considering buying as an upgrade after my MixTrack. It is really made for Torq, but can easily be re-mapped to Traktor. You should investigate this controller for any damage before buying it, though.

ok so in a little bit of a dilema, can get both the vci 100 and the xponent for 200, the vci 100 has the djranking s overlay and is on 1.3 firmware, obviously i need to get a soundcard too but the fact that there is a lot of info regarding the vci 100 on this site etc. is swaying my opinion, any more advice would be much appreciated.

The nice long pitch faders look like they would be good for manual beatmatching. Id say go for it mate. At that price you cant go wrong as a place to start. hell, you may have it for years to come if it suits your style.

You could totally map some Fader FX onto the Xponent. I'd take a shot at it if I had one.

I'd go with the xponent at that price its a freaking deal, the FX area is lined up the same as traktor.

I Never liked the non-summetrical layout of the VCI or seen the reasoning behind using jogs for FX, maybe thats just me.

Guessing your In Ireland if you're looking at adverts, there's another xponent on their as well in mint nick for 220 euro http://www.adverts.ie/pro-audio/m-audio-xponent/810842

Dont believe you'll be disappointed.

If you like the faders and jog fx mode of the Vci go for the Vci
If you believe that you are not gonna use it and mix in a more classic way, xponent.

Vci is better build, xponent got audio card and more button/knobs.

Check for some cosmetic damage, for sure. Maybe you could ask the seller to demonstrate it or hook it up to Traktor or Torq for you?

yeah its seems too good to be true, i will check it thoroughly if i go for it although being a complete beginner i wouldn't even know what could be wrong with it or how to test it. Also considering i already have traktor i want to make sure it works well with it as i can't afford other software!

Although the MixTrack is big and made of plastic, it does get the job done. The knobs, faders, and jogs don't feel like they're going to break. The buttons on the controller are pretty nice, but the play/cue/cup/sync buttons aren't arcade ones. :P

Also, the effects sections are pretty limited. You'd probably be best off adding another controller to your setup, like the LPD8, to have some more effects control.
