How to - Control your DJ software with an Android tablet Hey guys, I've been looking for a touchscreen module to control my Ableton Live in my live setup, something like Jazzmutant Lemur. But Jazzmutant Lemurs are too expensive for me and because of that, I bought an Coby Kyros MID7015, a Android 2.1 tablet. This tutorial gonna work on all Android tablets so here we go: The first thing you need to do is download and install TightVNC to your computer. You can download this here - http://www.tightvnc.com/ (The installation is simple, all you have to do is click Next,Next,Next... and finally OK. The next step is download AndroVNC app to your Android tablet. Just go to the Android Market and tipe AndroVNC. The third step is the configuration. Open the TightVNC server you have installed in your computer, you can bring it a password to avoid your connection of some bad stuff & hackers. Once you have do this, you don't need to do anything, just check that the main server port is set at 5900, if it don't, set it (To set it, just click in the main server port box and tipe 5900). Ok, now the final step is connect your tablet to the computer. Just open the AndroVNC application & put your IP in the adress form. Set the Port to 5900 and put the password (If it have). Down the configuration page, there some options like Local Mouse Pointer & Colors configuration, set this with your preferences. I prefer to set the Local Mouse Pointer On, it's better to touch some buttons. Now just click connect & move the screen by your preferences. Thats it guys, hope you enjoy that! | |
