Thinking about selling my Pioneer HDJ 2000's and getting...... Posted on: 08.12.2011 by Candy Vardy Hey guys, well yes its true, I'm believeing about selling my Pioneer HDJ 2000's.Crazy right? Well here's why.... I've had them for almost a year, and I do love them, but over these months I've started to notice a few things which is really starting to bother me.. 1. They get very heavy after playing a few hours. 2. They hurt my ears from the inside of the cup after playing a few hours. So these are the 2 issues that bother me, especially when I've been using them for a long time. They get heavy around my neck, and they also bother me when I use them for basic everyday use. They also start to hurt my ears, and after a few hours I actually can't wear them anymore, and take them off. Now this is turning into a deal breaker for me. So I've been looking into other options and the TMA's and HD 25's came up. Now I've tried the TMA's and found them a little loose for my head. They sounded great and very comfortable but I was worried about them moving on my head when I'm playing. Now the HD 25's I've heard fit tighter than the TMA's which is good news for me, and we've all read about their quality etc... So now I'm considering selling my HDJ 2000's and getting a pair of the HD 25's. The only thing I'm concerned about is their comfort. Are they very comfortable especially for long gigs? I've never had the chance to try them so I'll be going by reviews and opinions. Have any of you owned both cans, can you give any feedback about it? If they will be a more comfortable fit, then maybe this is what I'll be doing. Good bye Pioneer hello Sennheiser! Thanks in advance guys. Cheers. | |

They are uber light weight and ridiculously robust. hd-25's ftw |

Leeanna Ayla 09.12.2011 | My 7506's are more comfortable on my ears than my HD25's. I still prefer the HD25's mostly because of weight I believe.

Dorie Scelzo 08.12.2011 | Yeah |
DJ MENSAH 16.12.2011 | I gather replacement headbands fro HD25 are not a big seller for Sennheiser. :-D |
Candy Vardy 15.12.2011 | Yeah I remember that pic. I don't know how I got it confused with being TMA's. Silly me. Thanks Chris for posting. |
Leeanna Ayla 15.12.2011 | My Senns Baslinebrine posted pretty much the same pic with TMA's and they both were unaffected. |
Candy Vardy 15.12.2011 | Bump. |

DJ MENSAH 13.12.2011 | Is it true that TMA1 headband is made of rubber coated steel? If that is the case, you could shape the headband to better fit your skull. For example: I've bent my AKG K518DJ so that it fits better on my bit pointy skull (not perfectly round at the top). |

Sarai Suchman 09.12.2011 | Headphones are something that is totally personal. Person A might LOVE a certian headphone yet person B cant stand them. Headphones are no different than a pair of pants or a jacket. If i wear size 32 jeans that fit me perfectly and styled the way i like mean that the person who is 230lbs should wear the same jeans? At the end of the day its all about you and what you like. The only exception to the rule here is if you wear any Dr. Dre Beats while Djing...you will look like the douche bag wearing the Ed Hardy shirt 2 sizes to small for him. |
Barton Rigazio 09.12.2011 | I had the HD25's for a while man and they just were too tight. Clamping pressure was too much for me. But a lot of other ppl love the feel and so I believe it totally depends on your head and what you like. Honestly dude if you found the Pioneer's which are circumaural to hurt your ears, I don't believe the Senn's will be any better and actually believe it might be worse! But that's just my two cents bro. I'm personally about to buy the Sony v6's :-) |
Candy Vardy 09.12.2011 | You have both the TMA's and the Senn's if I'm not mistaken hey Chris? Which ones fit more comfortably or tightly on your head? Not to say your head is the same size as mine, but just to give some more insight into their fit. Have you ever tried out the Pioneer's? I have a hint that maybe on ear headphones like the Senns might feel a lot more comfortable after long hours of use compared to the Pioneer's plus they much lighter. I wish I knew someone close by that had a pair for me to try, and compare... |

Dorie Scelzo 08.12.2011 | Yeah |
Preston Wootton 08.12.2011 | Going to believe I am funny but the most comfortable headphones are still the trusty Sony MDR 7506's studio monitors. They are cheap, light, sound great and most of all they are comfortable. I have tried others but can't find any others that feel the same. Can be bought for under $100.00 |

Brunilda Kora 08.12.2011 | Is there a market for 2nd hand headphones? I wouldn't want to wear 'phones that someone else had used, and I DEFINITELY wouldn't want someone to wear my sweaty ass 'phones after me! |
Leeanna Ayla 08.12.2011 | If you weren't in South Africa I would offer to trade deal on some HD25's. |
Palma Hanslip 08.12.2011 | If you buy the Senns you will never look back. Trust me. |
DJ MENSAH 08.12.2011 | Someone somewhere, not here, mentioned that HD25 has a bit too rigid cussions but something can be done to the to make them softer. (if anone knows, I too would like to hear) Apart from that, they should be quite comfy, especially if you find TMA1 to be a bit loose (which means your head is not very large/wide). Event if HD25 are too grippy, you can still stretch them by leaving them stretched overevening or something similar. |
Candy Vardy 08.12.2011 | Yeah I've considered them. I actually saw Laidback Luke wearing IEM at Ultra this last weekend. I'm not sure though it I want to take that route as I'm more of a traditional DJ, and like the idea of a DJ using DJ headphones. But it is something I'll believe about. Thanks. |
Verlene Geevarghese 08.12.2011 | Have you considered in ear monitors? More than a few users here do, or are considering them (me being one of them). They're obviously lighter, in most cases isolate better so that you don't have to crank the db's and save your ears. I know it doesn't look as snazzy as rippin a choon with your monster cans, but it seems as though it may be right up your alley. Amazon has klipsch x10's for 120 bucks or so right now.
