APC40 Internals ... considering a mod :D Posted on: 20.12.2011 by Rolanda Clodfelder Anyone got any photos ? considering an internal USB hub & Soundcard mod for my one where I'd be utilizing the foot pedal jacks as i/o's and adding a front 1/4' for headphones. Already have a hub to to use, although everything of course is based on having enough space. Reason for modding: Less to plug in and, well because :P Question though, any recommendations for shielding the sound card ? And yes I know I could take mine apart ... but its not with me right now Cheers | |

| Rolanda Clodfelder 20.12.2011 | For the APC80, I'm guessing just the hub would do the trick for starters and just a case of resoldering the USB connectors for the APC's to 2 or the usb ports on the hub board directly. I'm guessing its possible to put a powered hub inside the APC80 and connect a single PSU if you use a 5amp PSU (instead of 2x2amp) and 7ohm resistor going to the hub, which "I believe" gives you 5v @ 1amp for hub powering to plug in other gear, shouldn't be too difficult. ** edit ***sourcing the PSU might be difficult perhaps **edit** CCTV cameras use 12v 5amp @ around $20 or less a piece. Any thoughts on shielding ? ... seen a few peeps modding their internal sound cards with art board + foil ... or foil+foam, reckon it'd do the trick ? |
