Reply to microphone with mixtrack and traktor pro!!help

hi, i have just bought a new dynamic mic to go with my mixtrack pro. I have just bought traktor pro too and the record button words, but the microphone is not getting picked up in the inputs?
i would appreciate if anyone can help as this was the primary reason i bought it in the first place
i have a dynamic mic which is plugged into the mixtrack pro with a jack lead, however in traktor preferences, there is not a mic as input?
so im not sure how to work it...or do i need a special mix??
