Reply to Audio 8 looks functional but is not

Hoping someone here can help with this because right now this audio 8 is a paperweight. I wanted to try to do a firmware update but my serial isn't accepted by NI's hardware reg site. Here is a copy of the ticket I sent NI.


Purchased secondhand as a "manufacturer refurbished" unit.

Firmware version 24.
Serial number: xxxxxxxxx (not accepted at hardware reg page though)

All the usual lights come on at startup and unit is fully recognized by traktor 2 and osx. I can use the audio 8 control panel to change the input mode and the lights on the unit change correctly.

All outputs are routed correctly in traktor. When play is pressed in traktor the light turns green but the waveform doesn't move and no audio is passed. When used as a sound card in other applications no audio is passed.

I have tried multiple usb cables, multiple usb ports(both are usb 2) multiple laptops(one mac one pc), and the current drivers from the website as well as the drivers from the install disc. I have also done a full reinstall of traktor as well as the drivers. The exact same thing happens every time.

If it seems like the unit is defective please let me know so I can contact the seller and return the unit to him.
