Reply to Why a midi fighter?

Could someone explain why everyone loves these so much? I'm not seeing how they're worth $170 over $100 for say an MPD18 that can do the same things and more. Is it just the smaller size and arcade buttons (but even then, you lose velocity sensitivity)?
