Posted on: 12.06.2012 by Dione Haimes Painting my dicers this weekend to white, since i cant get ahold of a pair of DJTT white dicers.Whats the best kind of paint to use with plastic? cant be too thick because the dicer is a tight build but not wanting it to chip easilly. Dione Haimes 12.06.2012 | What about protecting the screw threads etc? should i put the screws into the holes? |

Brunilda Kora 12.06.2012 | Post picks - I'm considering painting my Dicers too... |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 12.06.2012 | if you paint them get a 3M scotchbrite pads from a hardware store, they are flexible and the equivalent of medium/fine grit sandpaper... your biggest issue with painting plastic is adhesion, scotchbrite on it's own will remove the gloss and give the paint something to stick to... it might be an idea to take them to an auto repair shop and get them sprayed with baked enamel 2 pack paint, it's the stuff they paint commercial vehicles with so is very hard wearing, shouldn't cost more than $20... for stenciling, if you only want to use it twice just get some clear acetate that printers use, the thicker the better as the solvent in paint will eat away at the strength of it, but it is very easy to cut with a scalpel, and because it's clear very easy to transfer an image. |
Leeanna Ayla 12.06.2012 | Krylon makes a plastic specific spray paint. You could get a sign shop to do your name in a real thin vinyl and then clear coat over it. |
