HELP: What controller should I buy?
Posted on: 05.07.2012 by Sharmaine Pellino
Hey DJJT,

I've just sold my S2 because I want to be able to control 4 decks.
I know the S4 or the vestax VCI 400 are good 4 deck controllers, but I'm looking for a midicontroller without the big jogs and preset knobs. Just a plain midi controller with lots of faders and knobs, and with a good price.

The VCM 600 is something i'd love to buy, but doesn't have a soundcard.
But the interfaceis what I like, many knobs & faders.

So i'm asking you guys for help, can you propose something?

Thanks!

Yes! In internal mode only though .. you will NOT be using the master output from the DDM mixer rather the master will come from one output from the Audio2 (or whatever sound card) and cue your headphones using the other output.

The rest of the mixer controls will be done via software however an 8ch sound card and using traktor externally would be far more elegant IMHO and allow you to use the built in effects/eq's cueing of the behringer the way it was intended.

Actually the DDM4k is probably a good option - shame there's no USB version.

And if you want 4 mixer channels (like the OP wanted) you'd need an 8 channel sound card (4 stereo)

A combo of X1 or F1 + K2(s) perhaps .. won't be an all-in-one system but about the same size and mighty flexible.

even just having a single K2 could give u full control over 4 decks with internal mixing as synthet1c says... plenty of knobs/buttons/faders to control eq+kills+transport over 4 decks.

two x1's plus a db4 or db2 is a great digital setup
