Buying advice! (urgent)
Posted on: 15.07.2012 by Leighann Kashat
So here's the deal: My VCI-400 EGE got stolen a couple of weeks back after a gig and have been pondering over what I should buy once I get my insurance money. Since I will be studying graphic design & photography in Santa Barbara City College this fall, I have been asking myself if I should buy a new VCI-400 or buy an S2 (I have a MF3D as well) and use the remaining money to buy myself a new, proper camera.

I have been DJ'ing for 2 years now, played a couple of gigs here and there and generally mix 2 tracks with some occasional loops and thanks to the VCI: I mixed 3 tracks and samples, but with the S2, I know it won't be possible mixing 3 tracks, thus making things a tad more boring

So what should I do? Buy a new VCI-400 (again, i'm not a working DJ, but would consider myself a darn good one) or invest in my studies and buy a S2 (and miss out a third track but still have access to loops that could be controlled with either an iPad, Kontrol F1 or my MF3D) and use the remaining money to buy my new camera (which is 400-500$ plus some of my own money from my budget)?

That was it eh? Haze tells you what, and you have your answer? What was your choice? I say, S2 and the camera!

I thought this was urgent?

I would buy whatever you can afford that you will enjoy the most without wanting to sell it a month later. I don't believe "more" features or more buttons = better or even more fun. Sometimes having to do things the hard way is funner and more enjoyable.
