Xone k2 setup with a club mixer...some help
Posted on: 13.07.2012 by Ines Ouchi
hi guys,

my setup is a macbook running traktor pro 2 with a k2 controller.

can someone tell me if this setup is correct?

output routing:

internal mixing: (as i plan to use the 4 channels on the k2 for volume etc)
output monitor: front left/front right (as im using the k2 for monitor cueing)
output master: this is where im unsure. do i leave this as not connected?

what i want is my rca jacks to go into 1 channel in the club mixer, put the volume up, then i control each deck & volume from my k2.

thanks

Just use the gain knob on the mixer so everything peaks nicely at 0db
prob is i had the cdj at 12 o'clock & the soundcard at 5o'clock. how is this right?

external mode: 1/2 left , 3/4 right. plug into 2 channels on the mixer and use the cue on that like a boss
ya i want 4 channels & i dont wanna hog the whole mixer...i want to use my controller for everything. just plug into 1 channel & im good to go.

the only issue im having is the sound output. why are soundcards so much lower in volume than cdj2000s?

Yeah it doesn't matter, it's there to be used. I have to crank the gain quite a lot with shitty vinyl rips and old tracks.

well, i just find it odd theyre soooo different in terms of output. all i hear is how good the output on the audio8 & k2 is & they are much much lower than that of a cdj.

so cranking the mixer gain is ok u believe?

If you can get it to peak at 0db why does it matter?

Well he says he wants 4 channels so he'd have to get another soundcard if he wanted to do that.
