Reply to End of Chain Gear

For a long time I have been flirting with the idea of slapping some subtle gear onto those master outs. I realize that such a thing may or may not at all be improving on all those carefully mastered masterpieces, but I like the idea of adding some subtle character and additional coherence to a set.

So, be it adding a simple stompbox, a complete Studer, or maybe "just" a virtual device, does anyone have experience with this?
