DIY Arcade Button mod walk through with photos
DIY Arcade Button mod walk through with photos Posted on: 26.07.2011 by Ardell Semrad Hi.I fitted arcade buttons to my VCI 100 over the weekend and thought I'd share the process with you in a photo guide ( see below ). I know how difficult a decision it is to do this yourself plus I couldn't find much info on how to do this other than the video on DJTT but that was for people who want to go the machine shop route. So here's how I did mine and hopefully this will give you the inspiration and courage to do it yourself. DJTT kindly sent me the cut guide to print out, I couldn't have done the mod without it. Here's how my new VCI SE Arcade looks and it works a treat, I'm really happy with it, it's so much more responsive Firstly download the cut guide from here - http://www.ianphillips-mclaren.com/d...ster_point.jpg It would be a good idea to watch the Arcade Button mod Video http://www.djranking s.com/2009/07/2...iy-arcade-mod/ 1. Cut out the template around the sides and then the holes on the paper template where the arcade buttons will go with a pair of nail scissors or similar, then cut out the guide hole which is above the arcade holes. The guide hole on my print out was a few mm high, I don | |

Ema Screws 13.12.2012 | NIce Job man ! How many cables you have left after assambling all wires from the PCB to the buttons ? Could it be there are 7 per button raw ? Cause you have as i understand 1 for ground and four for hotwire the buttons than you have 7 left ? For what are these wires ? |
Ardell Semrad 05.10.2012 | Apologies, I haven't been on here for a while. Did you every get around to doing it sonicboom ? I just got my new overlay last week so I'm going to fit that today, I decided to change the buttons again to match the new over lay : ) best Ian |
Ghislaine Derick 12.02.2012 | Nice one! |
Clemmie Peton 10.02.2012 | Do they make a hole saw the same size as the cutout for the arcade button? That would be way easier than having to file out the holes. |
Dexter Chiu 10.02.2012 | There was bound to be someone else in a similar position as me (Non arcade VCI looking to upgrade, based in the UK). Great walk through and inspiration for me to get mine sorted Although, since we don't have the new TP2 overlay, do you find yourself falling down the partial rectangular slots left behind? |
