Reply to VCI 100 SE Tech Tools edition - Should I buy one?

Typically I use a mixer aligneds to an X1 and it has suited me excellentlly over the years...but my mixer died and I am looking for a new one...

While looking I have come across an arcade button modded VCI 100 and am severly tempted by it, but having never used one I am not sure I want to take the risk of buying it and not liking it...

As an aside I realise I can sell the X1 if i like the VCI 100...

Sell it to me, what are the strengths and weaknesses?
