Reply to uila leds into controller

Hi guys, im building a controller (well attempting) and i want to fit uila leds to the buttons (SEIMITSU PS-14-KN).
Question is. I know i need a driver ic chip WS2803, but then im lost haha. connecting all this together is my downfall, ive been watching tutorials but they're all about installing the led into the button and not much about getting it to show the colour you want when you want. i.e shine red then you press it it goes white, or shine red then if i use a loop it goes green like the loop feature in traktor. I already have these parts;
teensy++2.0, 16 seimitsu ps-14-kn clear buttons, breadboard, enclosure. 4 knobs for potentiometers. I need to order the leds (not sure which spec to get) and the ic but not sure on what wiring is needed or weather to order pin headers? Is anything else required to power/control the leds? any other boards?
