Best way to find out about gigs in your area

Yo guys.

With the amount of new music and new producers coming up every day its makin me believe...damn...I wish I could find out when these dudes are playin in my area.

How does everyone find out or stay up to date with gigs happenin in their area.

Shit like resident advisor seems good but i duno, maybe an iphone app or somethin?

Facebook is the best way. Follow the DJs/Producers you like and you're gold.

There's no really good way to do it. There are always some "local" community s of a sort that have a lot of postings, but that just doesn't keep up with it anymore.

I network like a madman facebook style, and always get a ton of invites to events around the area. FACEBOOK = what promoters use these days. And it works, for what it is.

It's just a matter of actually going out to shows on a consistent basis, talking with people, picking up flyers people are handing out, and then also getting on invite lists from promoters/venues for shows.

I can't keep up with the amount of shit going on, and I go out 4+ times a week.
