Awesome deal on 16GB RAM for anybody who produces or uses Ableton a lot! Posted on: 04.04.2012 by Jerlene Jernegan This is a steal of a deal on 16GB DDR3 RAM. This RAM will work with the 2011 Unibody Macbook Pro's and newer. I'm picking this up simply for my Logic and Ableton use, as I know that having more free space for app-specific memory, as well as a larger general cache, will speed me up. This could benefit anyone who does a lot of intensive audio work with lots of virtual tracks and what not. Price recently came down from around 200 a few months ago, so once I saw it I just snatched it up. And at only around 50 dollars higher than the 8GB kit, it only makes sense to upgrade (for me at least) so that I know I'll be future proof, and won't have to waste money on an 8GB kit now, only to not use it when I upgrade to 16GB later.16GB DDR3 Komputerbay RAM only $99. http://bit.ly/HlMDBN 16GB DDR3 Corsair RAM, only $107. http://bit.ly/HXbFsi Compatible with 2011 and newer MacBook Pro's. Enjoy! Note: Apple says it's only able to take 8GB, but it recognizes and uses 16GB in the 2011 models fine. | |

Joselyn Supina 30.04.2012 | Corsair is down to $99 now, believe I'm going to pull the trigger. |
Meagan Diones 01.05.2012 | I just wanted to make sure I have a 2011 mbp and was believeing about upping to 8 but if it can recognize 16 I'll just do that |
Nedra Fresneda 30.04.2012 | Pre 11 Unibodies cap at 8gb. Even when Ableton gets x64 support, you will more likely run out of CPU power before you get to use 8gb of RAM (yes, I use vsti with big ass sample libraries such as BFD2 and Kontakt). |

Joselyn Supina 05.04.2012 | hmm, buy now or wait another 6 months for it to be $50? $107 for the corsair isn't bad at all...very tempting. |
Floria Regoli 05.04.2012 | nope... ableton live 9 will be 64 bits... but till now there is no word from ableton about it |
Jerlene Jernegan 05.04.2012 | Oh my bad, sorry about that. It just assumed any modern audio program would be 64 bit. |
Brock Ricapito 06.04.2012 | Ableton is 32-bit and can't even utilize 16GB of RAM, you dolt |
