Linnie Montenegro 23.03.2010 | i was hoping to stay under $500. if i can be under $800 that would be great. really don't want to go over $1000. |
Al Henger 23.03.2010 | well, dont pull the trigger yet. let someone else chime in here. How much cash do you have to work with? |
Linnie Montenegro 23.03.2010 | i couldn't use the mic/line as the 4th? 3 is okay for now too if that's what it is. and with the 2D i can pretty much mix right on that correct? the sliders would control the volume sliders right? i'm pretty much looking to be able to play and record. if i can mix tracks together without using my external mixer...cool. but i want to be able to mix the tracks physically without touching my laptop. so play, record and mix without touching the laptop is my main goal. i'm believeing that the 2D is the best option for that. |
Al Henger 23.03.2010 | well, your 500 is only 3 channels, so 4 deck external mixing is kinda out the window. The X1 does not have a soundcard, and has a lot less controls than the 2d. It also comes in at 1/3 the price of the 2d. |
Linnie Montenegro 23.03.2010 | i was believeing about going with the audio 4 dj, but that will only give me 2 decks correct? that i can "control" with my external mixer. or i'd need the 8 to control all 4 decks. that's why i'm torn between the X1 and 2D. i'm really not sure what's the difference between the 2...or if there really is no difference. |
Al Henger 23.03.2010 | mkay. Well. Soundcard choice is going to play a fairly large part in this decision, because it will enable you to either use your DJM500 to mix externally, or merely serve as a conduit between the internally mixed stuff and your speakers/phones. If you want to mix internally, you could easily grab 2 X1s and and a cheap midi mixer with built in soundcard or audio 2 dj. personally, I just the need for a few extra knobs and faders on top of the dual x1s (especially crossfader). |
Linnie Montenegro 23.03.2010 | no, if i want to play vinyl i can play vinyl. i'm looking to go completely digital. not looking for timecode vinyl or cd. |
Al Henger 23.03.2010 | Are you interested in Timecode vinyl, or no? I dont believe traktor can record externally mixed material unfortunatly. |
Linnie Montenegro 23.03.2010 | i currently have 2 1200's and a pioneer djm500 running to some alesis monitors. |
Al Henger 22.03.2010 | do you already have any gear ( external mixer, or the like?) |
Linnie Montenegro 22.03.2010 | awesome! i was believeing about getting the kontrol x1 or the xone:1D or xone:2D. i believe the 2D because of the sound card. i'd like to be able to control the decks using my mixer. i liked the demo of the kontrol one where you can jump to cue points easily and tweak your loops. can you do the same with the xone's? i'm just not sure if there's a better/cheaper option if i go with the kontrol. i'd like to be able to use 4 decks as well. |
Al Henger 22.03.2010 | unless you are using the demo, or traktor duo. |
Dalton Billson 22.03.2010 | you can record in traktor |
