Does anyone else constantly use Rewire?
Does anyone else constantly use Rewire? Posted on: 12.10.2010 by Audrey Pinda As the title states, just wondering if anyone else consistently uses rewire?I've been using FL for years, since version 4 I believe, if not potentially older. Basically as soon as I knew about it. So I'm familiar with programming drums in FL Studio. I recently picked up Ableton Live, and while I really really like the layout and workflow, I just can't get my head around programming the drums in the same manner. Maybe it's just that FL seems to be SET UP for doing drums. I can do everything else in it fine, but it gets quite clunky and cluttered when I have some of my VST's routed through other crushers and filters, and then when I want to change some parameter. So I've been using FL for drums mainly, and doing the synth/lead/bass work in Ableton. Anyone else do something similar? (And yes, I totally got the idea from Benga after watching an interview.) | |

Georgine Thanos 20.10.2010 | I used to ReWire Reason into Ableton, but I've found that it's just not necessary anymore with good VSTs. That being said, I've heard that Logic has a better sound engine than Ableton, so it might make sense to ReWire Ableton into Logic for the mixdown. |
Many Atia 17.10.2010 | reason into ableton live, mostly for rdk or when I feel like using subtractor/thor. but yeah, I tend to do that a lot. |
Ashirumatic DJ 15.10.2010 | I wire Ableton into Logic Express9 and Reason into Logic / Ableton |
Breana Singerman 12.10.2010 | I myself use Ableton more as an instrument. It's real easy to bang out some riffs/basslines/leads/grooves in Ableton. But when it comes time to do the arrangement/mixdown/editing I bring everything over to Pro Tools and work from there. Just have to find a workflow that make sense to you and run with it, don't try and force yourself to use something when you're more comfortable with another DAW/VST/so on. |
Roseanna Hascall 12.10.2010 | I usually use Ableton Live rewire Reason. I just prefer to use redrum for some more hard part in my songs (maybe with some ableton fx) some other time I use Reason for some specific sound (not much time...in Ableton you can easily change a string bass instrument in a heavy electro sound...and it sound more real, "natural"...however thor remain thor...). I used Fl but it sounds too plastic....the sounds going out from there don't have that touch of realistic instrument.... my opinion |
