how long to produce to get results?

ok , i believe of production as playing a instrument. When you first start out playing a instrument....you dont know much. When you start producing you dont know much , but if you do a little each day you learn right?(im new to ableton).. but i want to learn and been learning to produce my own dance tracks/music.im 2 months in with ableton...and im still learning...and i believe i have atleast 1-2 years before i come up with anything(especially with school and working)So im wanting to know , how long did it take for you to produce a track or whatever?

i watch alot of youtube videos, sonic academy.search the net alot and read alot.try to absorb as much info as i can.I havent touched ableton in 2 weeks though.i need to get on it.i know if i do a little each day , it will help.

i hope i worded this right , and any motivation or tips would greatly, GREATLY be appreciated!

with ableton i been using 3-4 years. but only now started to get tracks released officially. but then again for 3-4 years i only fiddled around with it and didn't know almost any technical skills. But early this year i got really into it. don't have a proper job atm so i had lots of time 8-10hrs a day trying to do something unknown. just keep doing what you do and good things will come sooner or later. it really comes down to how much time you have for learning. just my oppinion

I'm still really new (3-4 months) but I have learnt so much in the first few months over like 3-4 hours a week. The more you play around the more you learn! and youtube is your friend

Good luck

in 2 years i've come from this:

to this:

http://soundcloud.com/djhipnotikk/lu...drumstep-remix

if that makes you feel any better. it just takes time and practice really. explore as much as you can to the point you know the inside and outside of everything.

There's no set time, and it all depends on how much time you put into it. If you can only spend a couple of hours a week, you're learning curve is going to be longer than some one who spends a couple of hours a day on it every day of the week. And some just "get it" quicker than others as well. And if you actually have some schooling in music theory that's going to help the process along as well.

There's just so many factors to list, but you should just keep producing for the love of it to begin with, and the results will come in due time.

I can't say it is beautifull but it's something.
Usually to try different genres and technics I partecipate to some kind of remix contest.
Another tip I can give you is to listen to "famous", better...prefessional tracks and try to reply the drum part, or just the bass so as to know more about it.
I am also a beginner...but this two things help me everytime!
Ah if you don't have any idea about how to use ableton this two tips are useful...in that scene you have to try, try, try, try, try. If you don't understand the logic of ableton you can't do a lot of things. Just try to put something somewhere! And if you want (i didn't) read the ableton starter manual.
Hope I help you!
