I'm not entirely sure what genre this is... Posted on: 05.11.2010 by Ling Zambada I've been working on this track the past couple days and got some good reviews from friends, so I figured I'd throw it up here and see what you all thought of it. Like the title says, I'm not too sure how to characterize the genre, so any help with that would be great http://soundcloud.com/lewis-godowski/preview4 | |

Ling Zambada 06.11.2010 | Thanks for the input, MrTwe3k. This is more or less my first serious song and I have no clue what all I should be doing in it haha. It's mostly been me learning new techniques in Ableton and attempting to use them. I'll see what I can do about rearranging it and post an updated version! Also, what could I do to make the bass beat progress more? Thanks again! |
Denita Pleimann 06.11.2010 | I enjoyed your song, I liked the bass rift, and the melody was really cool. however I did believe that the structure of the song was a little mismatched. in my opinion I believe it would sound "better" if you took the song and cut it in to 3 pieces. the intro, the main melody, and the outro with the breakdown and the subtle Synth. now I believe it would sound better if you started with the same buildup on the intro and led in to what I called the "outro with the breakdown and the subtle synth". than rip their faces off with the sick melody. also near the beggining in the intro you over compressed your bass for like 4 measures. try to slowly bring the depth of the compressor up to its highest point for the final 4 beats before the drop. and finally, the bass beat is fat through the whole song, but it doesn't "progress". however, I also try to make music and have still not grasped this concept so just feel good that you made a banger =). *Electro house imo. |
