Hey all, Im currently trying to pick up a 2nd hand copy of logic 8 or 9..

Is it worth paying an extra

Yo, logic 9 has a great set of new instruments and effects as well as flex time, which is just brilliant if you do any sort of sampling. Really intuitive to use, and you can lock breaks and instrument samples in within a few moments. You can also get really creative with 'flex markers' which you can use to stretch things about in the same way you would use Ableton's 'warp markers'.

I'm a really big fan of the guitar pedal plug-in.
Thats a big added bonus to Logic Pro 9, in my opinion.

i do all of my productions on a MacMini that is 2 years old. Running Logic Studio 9. Just watch the plugin count, and you're fine (though I've never personally run out of plugins) Its easy to manage the CPU usage.
...and to answer the question. Get Logic 9 either Express or Studio, you can't lose. Flextime is worth every penny.

i was a bit frustrated with 9, but in a few minutes that was over and now I love the changes!
