What production software you use?
What production software you use? Posted on: 25.03.2011 by Derick Wasserman I have been wondering what production software most people are currently using? I personally use Logic pro and am pretty happy but have been told Pro Tools is studio standard. So... What software do you use? | |

Olene Minyard 09.04.2011 | Ableton Live Suite 8 for me with Reason 5 rewired into it (as I've said many a time on these community
s). Absolutely amazing combo. Using Ableton as the host, using Kong in Reason which is absolutely amazing for programming and EQing drums ready for Reason and then usually use NI's Massive for the bass. After that little setup, I then use whatever I feel necessary to build layers of instruments, whether it's live instrument recording or use a sampler sound, like something from SampleTank XXL for example. |

If you like Logic, stick with it. It's really widely used by independant artists and producers, as is Live. Pro Tools tends to be favoured (and with serious snobbery in my experience) by the big commercial studios and soundtrack composers because of the astronomical costs involved. When you're an independant producer I believe it's better to know one DAW really well than to have a broad awareness of all of them. |
Su Cognevich 01.04.2011 | Ableton :-) |
Phung Furfari 01.04.2011 | When I used to produce I used Cubase, now I have moved to Nuendo and SADiE (Wavelab sometimes for PQing disks) cheers |
Maisha Terwey 01.04.2011 | I just use Maschine and Komplete Elements for 99% of my production. When I finish the composition, I'll load Maschine into Live 8 and route its outputs to separate channels, then do whatever EQing/compressing/limiting needs to polish the tune up a bit. To me, it's better to use a few tools well than many tools mediocrely. |

Sherril Sondergard 27.03.2011 | to me DAW really depent of people. LP is a really good one and Live 8 too. I was on LP b4 and turned on Live 8. because live 8 what more responding to my way on producing. another important point is the layers and synth that comes with. just try DAWS that coresponding to you and pick up one as a main use. |
