If I were to go try and get turn tables I'd probably go top of the line.. but, if I don't have 2-3K to spend on decks.. and I don't have any kinda ultra groovy controller, maybe I get the ultra groovy controller.. because I have this vision of what kind of a set up I ultimately want to have.. and it includes both and the ultra groovy controller is "good enough" in the short term.

i generally window shop and drool... if i forget about it, good. it if comes back to haunt me then i know i am serious and i search garage sales and usedottawa before hitting the local music shop

well, I do the window shop and drool thing to.. well it's usually reviews, community posts, and whatever first...

What I find is that I'll become possessed by the desire for some thing.. but.. before I pull the trigger I try and.. detach from the lust a bit and..

Well ok, here's an example. There's this EQ I want... the EQ costs $5000. I don't know that I actually need that EQ, or that buying that EQ would be a smart choice in anyway.. I mean I know it's a pretty bad ass EQ and all.. but I haven't really interrogated the idea.. so.. I hold onto the idea that if I'm going to buy a hardware EQ, that's the one.. and whenever I get around to going "yeah, time to get a hardware EQ" then I'll start asking all the questions.

I'm kinda always researching alllll kinds of stuff... and there's all kinds of stuff I want.. the trick is to.. not just buy a lot of stuff on lust.. but to be smart about where I spend money because, sadly.. I'm not filthy rich

You came to the right place and have some enthusiasm for sure.

Do some basic online research and if you are on a budget save a little more and don't go too cheap.

1. Lots of info on turntables and what to get. There's even some recent threads so a thorough search should turn them up.

2. What you're looking for is called phrasing http://www.djranking s.com/2009/01/2...e-perfect-mix/

3. Can't wait!!
