Re-Edit resources?
Re-Edit resources? Posted on: 05.06.2011 by Rolf Shippey Hello everyoneAre there any good community s for re-edits? There doesnt seem to be much info on going about making re-edits I was wondering how people go about doing them tbh a lot of times i hear edits i cannot hear anything added...it just seems as if people have slices of a song and just done some rearragning, repeating certain parts and maybe some effects like reverb on clap or hat if i try making chops on my hardware sampler....a lot of the time the samples dont fit the bpm...because of a real live drummer playing in the beat....so i have to timestretch a lot..this is very time consuming for me any tips? cheers Greg | |

Greta Goosman 07.06.2011 | If its any help I'm also interested in the same thing. I'm presuming that here is a good place to start, but there are other music production community
s which would cover it. I do have one question/comment. I'm trying to beef up old funk tracks using ableton. I'm having a go at putting copies of the track in separate audio racks and playing either the low, middle or high in each. I'd be interested to know if that's how some others go about it (at least in part, I appreciate there are alot more technical details). Cheers G |
Rolf Shippey 06.06.2011 | really great post that if any one knows of any community where re edits are discussed, please post here |
Breana Singerman 05.06.2011 | Well, what are you expecting from a re-edit exactly? It's not a full on remix, usually people chop it down to it's main parts and just make an arrangement that's more dance floor and DJ friendly |
Leeanna Ayla 05.06.2011 | I haven't seen any dedicated to re-edits. I believe most of what you're looking for would be in the various production community s. |
Rolf Shippey 05.06.2011 | thanks for your reply so i guess theres no dedicated community or resources for the re-edit community? I find very little related to re edits on the interweb |
Leeanna Ayla 05.06.2011 | I believe you've pretty much answered your question with your question. As far as time consuming it's not really as easy at it seems is it? As with anything however, the more you do it though the easier it'll get. |
