im working on establishing lead style sounds and getting pads down. i could use some critiques on this, if anyone would be so inclined.

I like the pads very much. If I were you (i'm aware that I am not) I would chill out the kick and snare a bit. They're a bit Flux Pavillion for an oldschool vibey tune in my opinion. Also the bass synth is good but I would keep it back for a bit, maybe just go for a nice sub-bassline for a bit and bring that synth in later, a method Skream seems to use quite a lot, really kicks you in the teeth when you're not expecting it.
