Posted on: 16.08.2011 by Ginny Suffield
Hey guys,

My first post and I already need some help ^^

So im building up studio for producing electronic music ,prog House ,tech, trance etc....I already own a keyboard
and I believe its time to get some monitors and audio interface

I did my research on the internet and I found out that KRK rp 5 are best monitors for the price ,is that true or are there better monitors for that price?
(I know getting headphones is better idea ,but im sick of wearing headphones so thats not an option :P )

Also I dont know what to buy for my audio interface I was believeing to go for M-audio fast track pro.
What do you guys believe about it? and what do you believe about this setup KRK rp 5 + M-audio fast track pro for producing music I music i specified...

Thanks in advance ,David

ps.sorry for my bad english

I would like to spend around 200$ +/- 50$ if its really worth it
For outs I need 2 balanced outputs to connect krk's
For ins ....maybe one day ill get a mic but thats not near future so its not a must

Thank you for all your comments guys

I'd avoid the fast track, I know so many people with issues with that one. How much do you want to spend, and how many ins and outs do you need?

i believe its more important that you get monitors that are sufficiently good. you obviously need monitors good enough for you to hear all the intricate bits, but its much much much much more valuable to really know your speakers.

those krks are definitely good enough, so i'd say go for them. and short of blowing silly silly money on a full blown studio, knowing your speakers will be much more valuable/useful.

interface-wise, we can't really give much advice without knowing your recording requirements. if you aren't recording anything, there's a chance even your built-in sound card is sufficient...

I would look into any speakers from Adam, Yamaha MSP7, and KRK VXT 8 with the sub. Audio interface, i recommend a native instruments audio 6 or 8
