Getting into production: Picking up HD-25 and thinking about MDR-v6 or Grado sr60i...

Hey guys quick question. Picking up another pair of the HD-25's (I sold mine and looks like I want them again!) for DJ'ing.

Now I've extensively read that the HD-25's can be thought of as reference monitors as well. Since I'm also planning to pick up a Maschine as my entry into production, would you say that I should also pick up a neutral set of cans for production? If I already have the HD-25s, can they serve both DJ and production needs, considering I'm also just entering the production scene.

If not, I was planning to pick up a good set of budget friendly production cans and after reading all the threads and doing my research, I've settled on the V6/7506 or even the Grados sr60i. Would love to own a set of Grados, but just wondering if the Grado open-ear philosophy is good for production (EDM/hip hop) ?

So basically 2 questions:

1) If I have HD-25's already, do I really need to pick up another set of cans for production?

2) How are Grados considered as cans for production? Which would you get: v6's or sr60i's?

Thanks!

I DJ and Produce on the same set of HD-25's. I believe you'll be fine when you start out and as long as you can listen to your tracks on multiple stereos (car, headphones, earbuds, home theaters) you'll be okay.

this is all my personal oppinion though.
