I need Ableton Help? Synth Effects
Posted on: 27.11.2011 by Thaddeus Scamp
Hey guys I just had a quick question about software synths. I realized from trying some demos of synths that there are often built in audio effects like reverb and delay.

My question is if I'm creating a melody which I copy and paste in Ableton to re-use over the span of a track, how would I remove delay or reverb in a specific part of a track when I want the melody to be more "defined"?

My problem is since I've created this track with a certain melody playing I want to get rid of the reverb and delay for the melody but that would mean having to re-record it again on my keyboard. Is there a way around this? Please let me know if there is! Thanks!

P.S. I'm an Ableton newbie so it might be an obvious answer for some people but not obvious for me.

Ohh right thanks! So even if I played the synth earlier with the reverb/delay effects, once I automate the synth via the macros I'll be able to completely remove them?

Yep, you pretty much have it nailed there.

Which synth are you using?

I find Sylenth1 to have the strongest line up of FX on a soft synth of its price.
