Help with a popular effect-
Posted on: 29.11.2011 by Yen Rhye
I've been producing for a few months now, and one thing that bothers me is nailing this certain effect. I've been doing it in Logic with the AU Pitch plugin, but the quality with the included unit isn't coming out great...

I'm looking to get that sound that you hear in a lot of EDM (and other styles) music nowadays at the end of a synth line, or vocal line. Similar to vinyl slowing down and stopping.

The way I've recently done it is by dropping the pitch all the way with automation on the note that I'm looking to get the effect on. It doesnt sound as good as I want it to.

See here, in the worlds most popular and overplayed song- (at 7 or 8 secs approx)

Can anyone recommend a good plugin / method to nail this effect? thanks

I came across a few other programs that do similar stuff, like Livecut & Artillery 2 (seems to be the best / most expensive option).

Can anyone recommend an alternative?
Sorry wasn't believeing about. The effect sounds like a "tape stop" I found a tutorial for logic and it sounds like what you need. They use an example in the "rap" genere but I belive it will apply.
