**Logic Pro Available For $199.00**

Hey guys, not sure if you guys are aware, if so just ignore or if its a repost mods please delete.

So....... Apple have announced that they will discontinue the sale and making of Logic Pro in the box set, and have made it available for download in the App store for only $199.00..

Here's the link:

http://www.macrumors.com/2011/12/08/...mac-app-store/

So what do you believe? Is it a good deal?

I believe it is, its less than half of the old price, and it looks to me as if its the same thing as the box set. Score!

Well I know that I'll be buying it, and it seems like a good alternative for anyone looking to start production at an affordable price. No more spending $500-600 on Ableton etc.....

So what do you believe? Cheers.

Learn about window groups.

Buy a control surface if/when you can afford it, though I have yet to follow that advice on my own.

Learn about the Environment when you can.

Caps lock turns on the on-screen keyboard, which makes most of the portable keyboards kind of pointless.

Get used to the audio routing as quickly as you can

So as a Dj wanting to produce quality professional EDM music, will not having these things possibly affect ones performance or needs? Will this new Logic work/be as good as the box version?

Just remember, with the Educational discount, you will be getting an educational license for Logic, which is not upgradeable. If Logic 10 comes out, you won't be able to upgrade to it.

Was watching a bunch of videos last evening and have to say Logic seems to make more sense to me than Ableton. I haven't bought it yet, but I believe it will happen.

If any of you guys are students: try the apple education store and see if you can get an even better deal. I managed to get a full box Logic Pro with all the goodies for $200. The great plus when you get the box is that you get the bigass Logic book. Very useful.

Learn how to re-map keyboard shortcuts.
definitely this + learn the command keys, increases your workflow tenfold.

I say go for it. I have the boxed version and I wouldn't hesitate to have gotten the app version.

Yeah as far as I know they discontinued Logic Express, and will only offer Logic Pro and Main Stage as downloads from the App store, no more box sets.
