VCI 100 Drivers?
VCI 100 Drivers? Posted on: 20.03.2009 by Celestina Alguire Hi I've just got my VCI 100 about an hour ago and have tried every USB port on my latpop a sony VAIO NR10E/s (3GB RAM) and it recognizes the controller and then asks me to install the drivers. However I'm led to believe from looking round that it's plug and play? The Vestax support number for the UK doesn't work! So please guys any help would be greatly appreciated.Joe OH and its 32bit vista I'm running if that makes any difference? | |

Rex Cirne 04.03.2010 | Ok so just to throw up a bit of my own progress if it helps anyone else. I bought driver detective (google it) to help me find out what problem drivers I had and the like. When I connected my VCI driver detective listed it as connected to an out of date driver, which was; Sabrent USB-AVCPT TV Tuner Driver Version 1.0.2.3 Driver date 27/09/2006 I've no real idea what this thing is. I did some research and it appears to come from a AV capture device I've personally never used. I have a feeling that these drivers may have been installed by some other device, possibly the shoddy webcam I used something like a year ago. I installed the driver recommended for the device (even though it was for a TV tuner and I'm trying to get a plug n play MIDI device to work), rebooted and tried the device then. It didn't work. I uninstalled the driver, rebooted and tried the device then, it didn't work. Checking driver detective again it still believes there's an out of date driver with the 2006 date. This makes me believe that like the logitech webcam driver this might be another problem filtering driver install that doesn't properly remove itself from the registry. However I don't know enough about messing about in regedit to find the problem instances and remove them. If anyone has any tips on that it would be greatly appreciated! |
Bebe Mcclamma 02.03.2010 | same problem here with a new vci100 & an imac 10.5 leopard. unit powers up, is listed in the usb devices on system info, but no drivers get installed. vci works fine with a hp laptop windows7, drivers uploaded automatically. vestax have provided no answer, gee they're helpful. must be a common fix? |
Rex Cirne 25.02.2010 | It seems like all these problems (which I'm also having) stem from some kind of driver conflict? Can someone explain how to clear out potential problem drivers? I don't have a logitech webcam installed, I do have another similar webcam though... maybe that was it? I wouldn't know where to find the problem drivers though. |
Salena Donahay 28.09.2009 | Im having a problem where the vestax inst working with vista on my laptop, but it works fine on my dekstop which has vista also. It wont get the drivers for some reason, when I plug it into usb port and turn it on, the red power light comes on and thats it. It wont get drivers. I believe though it installed the drivers before, how do I check if it has? But now it doesnt seem to work. Any help? |
Becki Ibold 25.09.2009 | Hi Thanks for that, but i've already seen all the things on the vestax site, and it's not the camera issue that's my problem, that sys file isn't on my system. Thanks for the effort though |
Xavier Emanuels 25.09.2009 | From the vesax website
Reports say that the VCI-100 was identified with TRAKTOR after un-installing drivers and software sold under the trademark of Logitech WEB camera (QuickCam , Qcam). A system file titled "lvubsta.sys" is created inside the driver file folder of USB audio device when the subject software and drivers are installed. It seems that this file blocks the USB MIDI controllers from being identified by the software. This system file cannot be deleted or un-installed singularly, and the system may possibly become unstable if done so. DO NOT perform this procedure. If you wish to un-install the software and drivers at your own risk, we recommend un-installing it from the "Add or Remove program" tool

Becki Ibold 25.09.2009 | Hey midifidler and others I'm having the exact same problem, how did you fix it in the end? Is a a full vista re-install the only way get my VCI working? Thanks |
Adolf Hit 22.03.2009 | That problem is a bastard ... took me an entire afternoon of fucking round with deleting different USB drivers to solve it. |
Celestina Alguire 22.03.2009 | Problem has been solved but had to do a full system format and reinstall windows as it had a corruption in the plug and play drivers. All fixed now time to get to grips with it! |
Mechelle Duncil 20.03.2009 | Hey, I really don |
Cristian Carmona 20.03.2009 | do you have the...YAMAHA AC-XG Audio device? |
Greg Knoob 21.03.2009 | I had this problem when first gettin my vci, vista wouldnt recognise the vci as a usb device! |How i fixed it... hmmm well I did a restore to factory settings & it worked fine there was also something to do with a logitech camera driver installed that interfered with it but after the restore this was no longer a problem. hope this helps!!! |
Celestina Alguire 20.03.2009 | Saw that but i'm running Tpro 1.1 and i know others are running this fine? Right? Also I've just tried it on my housemates vista PC plugged in turned on and 2 minutes later ready to use! Why would his vista pc know which drivers to use and mine not? I should also mention it is recognized as a vestax PC Controller however in device manager its recognized as an "other device". This is now driving me nuts considering a complete system wipe after i've backed everything up any help in the meantime is gratefully accepted |
Cristian Carmona 20.03.2009 | I got this from the vestax webiste....
[Support information 15/JAN/07]
We have 4 reports of the VCI-100 not being identified by TRAKTOR 3 and TRAKTOR LE when in use of NEC VALUE STAR, SONY VAIO or computers with YAMAHA AC-XG Audio device. The OS does identify the VCI-100. |
Hertha Fang 20.03.2009 | You could use an online calling app, to call somewhere else to get support from vestax. Not sure if it will help but Ean's personal # is 867-5309. J/k couldn't help it. Lots of people are having vista issues, but unfortunately I have OSX so I can't help you man, some other folks will be on later. |
Celestina Alguire 20.03.2009 | Are there any available as my Vista system is not recognizing my VCI 100 and asking me for drivers but i don't have any and can't find any online? Help would be greatly appreciated. |
Celestina Alguire 20.03.2009 | Now I'm faced with the problem that there are no vestax uk support lines open and i've searched everywhere i can believe of anyone who could help it'd be greatly appreciated i've tried everything i can believe of and technical support here is useless. |
