Christen Hedayati 22.04.2009 | i just saw a pic of some dude's vci and all of his LEDs seemed to be working, apparently there is a legit problem with mine. any idea? |
Christen Hedayati 21.04.2009 | I'm having the same problem, the snap light never turns off and 2x scra/jug will turn off the wheels. My deck A light is now illuminated though, so something is different, but none of the lights really are different. Does the new firmware just not utilize all of the LEDs? |

Adolf Hit 20.04.2009 | as above the jog disables common to both 1.2 & 1.3, I believe 5th cue point on touch plate is not a feature of the Traktor Pro mappings. |
Chan Ronga 20.04.2009 | Sorry to jump on the band wagon, but i'm having similar difficulties with my firmware identification. Can someone please clarify what is meant by "toggles on and off" I recently upgraded my firmware (at least I believe I did!) and while Traktor is closed, i push the Snap button on the left jog wheel, it changes from a greenish illumination on the right-side of the button, another push changes it to orangeish illumination on the left-side of the button. This is the "toggling" that I have been experiencing, but I fear that it's not the right sort of toggle. However when I hold down Loop A while turning the unit on and push the sync button (again, not in Traktor) the snap button just stays lit, no change. Resetting the unit brings me back to my original "toggling" lights. I also noticed that when switching to Juggle Performance mode, the touch sensor on the jog wheel does not act as a 5th cue point (assuming that the 5th cue point is assigned to cue 5 in the song) Can anyone give me a diagnosis? |
08.04.2009 | Sorry you have been having troubles. I know its a slightly frustrating experience but remember you are updating firmware by hand and sometimes there can be problems. The method you are using to test your firmware is not correct. Make sure the VCI-100 is NOT connected to Traktor. You can tell if you have 1.3 by triggering the snap button which is the button above the right corner of the left jog wheel. If that button toggles on and off with 2 clicks- then you have 1.3. that is the best way to test the firmware for 1.3 |
Adolf Hit 05.04.2009 | Disabling the pitch does not tell you if you have 1.2 or 1.3, it is a feature of both. It was not a feature on 1.1 |
Kathe Lefcourt 05.04.2009 | Hmm thats strange. I also upgraded from 1.2 to 1.3 but I can also still disable the jog wheels by pressing both of those buttons at the same time, but it DID fix my 4th FX button (which doesn't work under 1.2) so I'm declaring it a success. Your 4th FX button is still not working correct? |
Lester Bruker 05.04.2009 | hey thanks for your message. yeh ive tried the switch using the loop buttons, and in all cases i always end up being able to turn off the pitch bend by pressing both scratch juggle buttons at the same time |
Kathe Lefcourt 05.04.2009 | I know that when you sucessfully upgrade to the 1.3 fw, you have both the 1.2 and the 1.3 loaded onto the chip. Have you tried using the firmware switching process that was in one of Ean's videos to switch from 1.2 to 1.3? This might resolve the problem. |
Lester Bruker 05.04.2009 | hey all no i havent been able to update the unit. it works still fine now but in firmware 1.2 it might be coming from the computer i use? i have a macbook running xp with bootcamp. anyway thats all i have so i cant try something else. ill try to sell the unit and focus on the lemur. i love it but i'd rather avoid spending too much time and money troubleshooting. probably will sell it eventually thanks! |
Adolf Hit 05.04.2009 | Kits have been back in stock for a few weeks now. Sounds like you have 1.2... |
June Correira 04.04.2009 | I having the same frustrating problem. i bought a vci off a friend who assured me it had the 1.3 firmware already installed. I realized something was fishy when I started playing with the effects. In fader mode it would not freeze. The I started messing around with the beat juggling performance mode and I couldn't use jog wheels as 5th cue point I then pushed both scratch/juggle buttons and they went dark. No pitch bend here. All are indications of 1.2 firmware from what I have read. Did you fix yours? at least you have a upgrade kit. I'm stuck with 1.2 because there are no more kits available... |
Earnest Spink 29.03.2009 | Hi Julien, sent a pm to ya

Lester Bruker 28.03.2009 | so i have traktor 1.1.1 i have tried everything, firmware has been updated now 3 times today with all the time a perfect execution and no error then when i try my vci there's no sign of any update whatsoever, i still have this 1.2 my fx does not work, no chance at all, and trying to switch between 1.2 and 1.3 at start up is completely unsuccessful i am so frustrated i wasted my day i have a lemur that has a great template for traktor and to be honest i am playing with it right now. this vci wont probably stay long here anymore, the only reason i got one was because of all this djjranking s stuff, if i cant use it its is a waste of time and money... if anyone wants to enjoy a vci black with firmware 1.2 ill be more than happy to sell this stuff and make room here thanks leon for your help cheers julien |
Earnest Spink 28.03.2009 | Well Julien, since I'm still figuring things out with Traktor (Traktor Studio) and then moving on to Traktor Pro I can only guess... From what I know you need at least Traktor Pro 1.1 - you might have to upgrade To engage the Filter function I mentioned you have to hit the filter buttons and use the knobs besides them. - if you are not using the SE overlays the buttons would be the "cue" buttons and the knobs the "low(low)" knobs I also hope you loaded the tsi file correctly and saved (sometimes I have to save - at least the few times I tested pro). |
Lester Bruker 28.03.2009 | thanks gain for your help yeh ive tried it and the fx buttons do not work at all... its the same as what i had before in terms of functionnality im testing with tsi 1.4 in traktor pro i tried pressing the loop a and b trick at start up to switch between 1.3 and 1.2 but i can always turn off he pitch bend the same way thanks! |
Earnest Spink 28.03.2009 | Hi Julian, so you might have made it. Load the DJ TT tks or tsi file and check if the functions work. Try the filter knob. I believe if it works in both directions (reducing and cutting high on one side, low on the other) you should have FW 1.3 But then again, this depends on which tsi or tks file you are using and which version of traktor. |
