Question about the upcoming arcade mod overlays
Question about the upcoming arcade mod overlays Posted on: 21.04.2009 by Lakeshia Cipres I don't believe I posted this is the right place the first time, so I'll try again here.I believe modding my vci with arcade buttons would rock and suit my style, but i havent done it because I can't afford to pay for the extra work to refinish the holes the are left over from the old buttons. Having my board looking smooth and snazzy is important to me, so I don't just want to fashion something cheap to put underneath the holes. My question is: with the addition of an upcoming arcade mod overlays, could I now mod my board, fashion something cheap that filled the holes up to be level with the rest of the board and then put the overlay on top to cover the mess? I believe this should work in theory... what do you guys/gals believe? Focusing on the important things , Brett | |

Lakeshia Cipres 03.05.2009 | *Tips hat*... Thank you. Arcade mod here we come... |
03.05.2009 | yeah- with the new arcade overlays you can do the mod yourself and you dont need to fill in the holes because the overlay does it for you. those should be available next week too! |
Penni Rigor 28.04.2009 | True...but if there was a neat white/silver box above and/or below buttons, you could write them in with whatever color and hopefully be able to see it well....but maybe that might make it look to choppy. edit: or I could just use a P-touch..I guess that's the same...ooops. |
Adolf Hit 28.04.2009 | Im not sure, but when you believe about it black is not the most conducive to marking for yourself |
Penni Rigor 28.04.2009 | Will there be any black DIY overlays available at any time? For both arcade and non. |
Adolf Hit 28.04.2009 | TBH I dont believe you would even need to fill the holes in, the overlays are tough as fuck so they should cover the old rectangle holes no problem at all. |
Leota Saniuk 28.04.2009 | maybe you want to wait for the arcade upgrade kit, which is supposed to be released on the upcoming weeks. |
Lakeshia Cipres 27.04.2009 | Yes, modding the bottom 8 buttons into arcade buttons as done here on DJTT is what I'm talking about. I was under the impression that after cutting the holes in the metal vci-100 face, there would still be rectangular holes from the standard vci buttons (the placement of the arcade buttons on the DJTT cut template are not directly on top of the old button holes because the arcade buttons are bigger, and thus sections of the old rectangular holes are visible after the arcade buttons have been installed). My question again is, if I patched up these holes with something inexpensive, rather than welding the holes shut and sanding and all that, could I just pop one of the new "arcade button ready" overlays on top of the vci faceplate and have the vci looking flawlessly modded? Hope that helps. |
Arianna Denmark 27.04.2009 | Not sure about the question... but I believe the Arcade Buttons, take the place of the current buttons. Assuming your talking about replacing the 8 buttons along the bottom.??? |
Lakeshia Cipres 21.04.2009 | Crap, I still don't believe I posted this in the correct community ... my bad. |
