Reply to Regular vs SE for a n00b?

Just starting out, leaning towards a VCI-100 + Audio 2 and will use them with Traktor Pro. I plan to be all House/Electronic (from big beats to ambient). Want to learn mixing and scratching. Aside from the bugfix for one of the keys, will newbs have an advantage from the SE version (I don't want a more confusing/complex controller early on)?
