PLEASE HELP: VCI-100 & Traktor Crashes
Posted on: 21.03.2010 by Blossom Patacsil
I need some help here, every time I have used traktor and the VCI-100 (arcade), traktor will just crash from time to time - I'm not even touching anything at the time of crash, it's just music playing.

After an upgrade to the Leopard OS, the crash seemed to have been fixed. However, I have tested this out in the club a few times and sometimes the VCI is not responsive and I have just stopped using it and have gone back to using my Nano pad. THEN on NYE, I decided to give it another try -- everything was fine for a couple of hours and then while using the VCI-100, the beach ball shows up and traktor freezes, and once during COUNTDOWN. Bad evening ... had to use Serato and the Nano pad.

What is going on here? I'd like to get the issue fixed so I don't feel like I have wasted money on this super souped up toy.

Macbook
OSX 10.5.8
2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM
L2 Cache 2MB
using most updated version of Traktor Pro

Oops, sorry, I meant Snow Leopard.

Also, the install of Leopard was just recent. I was crashing before the install, and after the install came the beach ball. I have been reading other people's posts... seems as though it's the TSI file which the new one wasn't out at the time of these issues. I was traumatized and haven't touched my system since January 1st and I had been DJing successfully w/o the VCI100 for at least a few years (with weekly gigs).

Thanks for the advice, but upgrading to Leopard is something I'm not willing to do right now. The VCI-100 came out way before Leopard and other people were able to use it, so I'd like to fix what I have.

I'd do a fresh install of Leopard, then load all updated from mac. Then pick up snow leopard and install. We have similar specs, I was having an issue a few weeks ago with the beach ball of death. I installed Leopard, did all the updates, used time capsule to get to a point where everything worked great, then installed snow leopard. Beach ball gone.

Maybe someone with better understanding will chime in but i doubt its your vci or traktor. Sounds like your mac isn't happy. Hopefully you back up. This process will take you about two hours
