I used to dj late 90's had kids got married yada yada yada... The bug is back now and i have just purchased the VCI-100 of flea bay. Got that and a gigaport soundcard. I am running traktor pro 1.2.4. Firstly how do i check the firmware on my controller. It does not have the green sticker on the back. And both lights next to the fx fader switch on and off (thats if i am pressing the right one). Will my vci run with traktor pro if so what mapping files should i install. Sorry about all the questions.....Newbie......

You can create your own mapping or use one off this site. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for the reply firstly. When you say i can use some mappings of this site is there some for the standard vci-100 that i can use whilst i am waiting for my order to be delivered. Also what is the difference between Traktor Pro and Traktor Scratch Pro?

I believe I understand your question. The mappings on the site are designed for hardware i.e controllers such as the VCI 100 or Midi Fighter. You can mess around with Traktor all you want. Controllers are as the word implies "controlling" what is on screen. It would be to your advantage to mess around w/ Traktor before you get your controller. Check out Ean's videos to learn how to set cue points, etc. inside Traktor. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLQuukGhgxI

Pro and Scratch Pro looks the same and are pretty much the same. Traktor Scratch Pro allows you to control time-encoded vinyl. I have the Traktor Scratch Pro version but use the program w/ the VCI 100 SE and MF. You can disable the time encoding via the preferences.
