Mimi Mahaffee 25.06.2012 | No tears from me - they will probably come back in a reunion later. Anyways my favourite is axwell and i rather go to just watch him alone. I tried to get tickets this morning for their last action here in their home country sweden and was in line from when they were available - didnt get any ticket.. Sold out in 42 min - 40 000 tickets. They just announced that they will have another show so im crossing my fingers for catching a ticket tomorrow. I believe they would be able to sell out 40 000 x4 here in sweden.. its crazy. |
Yukiko Beauvil 25.06.2012 | I agree, I do like SHM but I am not that sad because my fav producer who happens to be in SHM(Axwell). He will be focused more on his solo stuff which I really can't wait to see. |

Erich Vallabhaneni 25.06.2012 | why does it matter to you guys? If 50% hate them, why even come to this thread? To let the people who do like them know you don't like SHM?? I kinda like a few of their songs, wasn't a huge fan though. Keep spreading hate though and a new, darker, cheesier pop DJ group will show up knocking on the door to the mainstream. Karma has hands in all events. |
Yukiko Beauvil 25.06.2012 | This might also be a plan, like in 2-3 years they will be like we are uniting back and they will even make more $$$ |
Margie Pavell 25.06.2012 | and? |
John Aird 25.06.2012 | Well, they (SHM) just sold out Friends arena (35 000 tickets) in 42 minutes... |
Margie Pavell 24.06.2012 | why did you post that? |
Jolynn Schroyer 24.06.2012 | Honestly, stopping before you start repeating yourself is hugely respectable. http://www.dancingastronaut.com/2012...#axzz1yf2QjUpz |
Jerlene Jernegan 24.06.2012 | Man I really hate to read threads like this. Not because I'm sad they split up, but because I'm sad of all the bashing and music snobbery happening in this thread and many others like it. Music can be compared to a cigar. Everybody had different palates and some may like the stuff rolled by the thousands with cheap filler and it may put a big smile on their face. Then there are those people who only smoke the highest end cohibas and shit on anybody else who smokes any non Havana. Everybody has different tastes and some may enjoy smoother cigars, nuttier, darker, more complex, or more basic cigars, but there's no need to ruin everybody else's enjoyment because your palate is different. I too enjoy Axwell's solo stuff far more than SHM's newer releases, but I'm not gonna bash those who do enjoy it. When you're in front of the decks, you can call the shots and play whatever you want, but when its not your turn to twiddle knobs and hump the air in the booth, just put on a smile and dance. You'll enjoy yourself much more. I love you all dearly and value music just below family, but this whole genre, old vs new, cdjs vs MIDI, house vs cftm, debate is really getting old fast. Just turn down the lights and turn up the music. Disclaimer: I love my music family almost as much aa my real family, I just wish we could get along a little better. Stay real everybody . Peace |

24.06.2012 | They clearly ought to be done under the trade description act cos that shit isn't house. |

Jacqualine Cieplik 24.06.2012 | Go against the grain... I saw their first ever UK Gig back in brixton a few years back, and having seen them quite a few times after working in Ibiza last year. I am gutted because apart from a few other DJ's they do put an amazing show and I will never forgot those memories. So yes, they might NOT be the Grand-daddys of the oracle which is 'House'. You can't take away the light they have shined on dance music allbeit good//bad
retards at a festival will fist pump to
Nice of generalisation of people. |

Noriko Lebowitz 23.06.2012 | Just kill me now. |
Jerica Salava 23.06.2012 | when they make a song that sounds like they smoked a joint and put their heart into it, rather than sat around trying to come up with something that retards at a festival will fist pump to, then I will praise them. ultimately, I feel that's why Axwell decided to end it. |
Alfred Takala 23.06.2012 | Seriously, the counter-culture and the overall just bashing of acts like Swedish House Mafia or whomever else is rather disgusting. It funny that you never here of those on their side of things bashing techno or house or what not. Production wise they are probably equally as good as any house producers (actually more Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell). Im a fan of mostly all dance genres; deep house, nu disco, tech house, electro. But the fact that people have to go OUT of their way just to bash a popular group seems to be a bit immature. I believe artists of any stature or genre deserve respect. |
Jerica Salava 23.06.2012 | sorry peeps. I am a bit opinionated after 3 rum and cokes. I believe I really love basslines. > |
Latrice Atcherson 23.06.2012 | Woot! In My Mind (Axwell Remix) ... Sweet Disposition.. Heart King.. omfg.. NEW AXWELL MATERIAL!!! *****8 YEAH! |
Jerica Salava 23.06.2012 | Funny. I didn't know the track ONE by Swedish Mafia. When I looked it up I recognized it from the NBA playoffs. lol. Swedish Mafia's music says "I make this music to sell, not to impress you with my talent. It's crap for the masses. Designed to steal stupid peoples money" same as Katy Perry. Except somehow Katy Perry winks at me and Swedish Mafia believes I am stupid. |

I feel your problem with "Swedish House Mafia" is that they have almost nothing to do with house music as the name could suggest. Well that seems to be true but I remember some rumours they didn't even the invent this name but took it after they had been called Swedish House Mafia by some fans a long time. And in answer to your classics topic: I believe "One" by SHM has already become some kind of a classic in the scene and I'm pretty sure there have always been some pearls hidden in the dirt, also in today's music. |
