If they could have it that the second or third deck come with +/-0.2 of the other track and equalised the pair? Sick nuts. (Not "set BPM on load" or having anything to do with beatgrids: if you're out of phase or haven't got the bars, stiff biscuits) |

When I moved back to decks I really felt that - even with its Final Scratch...erm...pedigree - it was tacked-on functionality. It felt a little disjointed for my tastes (go figure). Scratch Live being built from the ground-up as a DVS I feel nailed it. Very comfortable with its interface: find it uncluttered and easily navigable. Biggest irk with both of this applications is the limited customisation options. If you've seen the two-deck view in SSL, where it has the two white circles with the info (time elapsed/remaining, BPM, etc)..? Would love a three-deck view with these. No waveforms or nothing. Just enough to get by (as I use it more as a digital crate and mix by ear, more than anything else. Don't even use The Bridge or in-built effects). |

Latoria Kavulich 18.10.2012 | closing this irrelevant thread. oliosky, descendent, i have my eyes on you. calling someone a cock and then reporting them is a pretty dumbass thing to do. |

Lina Rawie 15.10.2012 | I use timecodes (vinyl) with it and outside of scratching with key lock on, I believe Traktor works great in that respect - as good as Serato, if not marginally better due to the way it responds to very slow record movements. I'm just talking about the core functionality of mixing/scratching though. Based on my experience: - Mixing - Nothing between them Scratching with key lock on - Serato (by miles) Scratching with key lock off - Traktor (but only just) I do find Traktor more taxing on my system though and overall I don't have that feeling of "I trust this not to fail" like I did with Serato. I know that either can fail and other aspects of your setup can fail (OS crash for example), but Traktor seems like it's trying to pack in too many features at the expense of stability/optimisation IMO. I've noticed minor bugs with it too, which doesn't really fill me with confidence. |
Erich Vallabhaneni 15.10.2012 | serato is better in the timecode department i belive. Not to mention all those sick choices in the vinyl |
Lauretta Ehrhorn 15.10.2012 | Well I've read this thread and learnt nothing useful. What I want to know is which one is more enjoyable from a timecode perspective? Only ever used traktor but happy to shell out on Serato if it fills the emotional void I currently experience with Traktor. Traktor historically is buggy as hell whenever a new update comes along. To be honest i'm fed up of it. |
Kiyoko Wellisch 15.10.2012 | Read it again, he never said that traktor users can't beatmatch or anything like that. |

Kiyoko Wellisch 15.10.2012 | Well with Serato DJ Intro you wouldn't even need to pay for the TPro licence, you just buy the mixtrack and you're done. |

Lina Rawie 15.10.2012 | Why? Do the people that use it cos they couldn't DJ without it get all upset or something? It seems odd to make discussion of a feature like that taboo on a community that's primarily about digital DJ gear. |
Nedra Fresneda 15.10.2012 | Let's not make this thread another sync discussion shall we? |
